Welcome to the 6-Day Taranaki Garden Spectacular!
Join us to be inspired, awed, and relaxed in some of NZ’s premier gardens, with the highlight being the Taranaki Garden Festival. We will be spending the first night in Hamilton, followed by 3 nights in a luxurious central New Plymouth hotel, and then traveling home with a single night stop-over in Taupo.

Bayes Coachlines operate a modern and reliable touring coach fleet, with vehicles ranging from 22 - 50 seater coaches. All of our coaches have a 3 to 5 star rating, are Air-Conditioned, with wall to wall carpet and trim, reclining seats, and some with on-board toilets, fridges, TVs, Video/DVD systems and twin door entry.

New Zealand Clients
Bayes Coachlines is based on Auckland's North Shore, we operate 46 vehicles ranging from top of the line tour coaches through to school and charter vehicles in both the North and South Islands. We provide all types of services and would love to discuss any requirements you have for up coming trips. We deal with Golf Clubs, helping to organise Golfing Tours, and Youth Clubs for any type of Day Trip or camps, our local senior citizens on their Day Trip and Away Tours. We also provide transport for corporate clients, and special interest groups.
We have the contacts to completely organise all aspects of any tours from 1 to 20 days or more throughout New Zealand, tailored to your personal requirements.
DAY ONE – Thursday 29 October
After the usual pick ups and collections, we head South in our deluxe twin door touring coach. Our first stop will be to the Auckland Botanic Gardens, situated in Manurewa. These Gardens, opened in 1982, show a great variety of what grows best in the Auckland region. We head over the Bombay Hills, having a lunch stop at Hampton Downs Café, situated beside the racetrack. This cafe has a great setup where cars can be viewed, in their workshop, through the windows. We then continue travelling on to Hamilton, where we will spend some magical hours at the world renowned and world inspired Hamilton Gardens. These truly magnificent themed gardens and landscapes are a sight to behold! Before checking in to our hotel.

DAY TWO – Friday 30 October
This morning we will enjoy some sightseeing of Hamilton, and a look around the lake, then continue south with a visit to the amazing Waitomo Glow Worm Caves and here we embark on an underground trip through the glow worm grotto. We then travel further on down through Te Kuiti up and over the range and head on to Piopio. We will continue our journey through the tunnel at Mt Messenger before arriving at our New Plymouth hotel, with time to relax before dinner. Here we will make our home for the next three nights at the Plymouth International Hotel. BD
DAY THREE – Saturday 31 October
After a relaxing breakfast, we will head off to begin our ‘Garden Spectacular’ visits being showcased at the Taranaki Garden Festival. The gardens we visit will be confirmed once the Official Programme is available. As our regulars know, we like to vary the visits each year, so we have opportunity to see as many different gardens as possible. BD
DAY FOUR – Sunday 01 November
Today after another great breakfast, we depart from our Hotel at 8.30am so that we can enjoy more of the gardens that Taranaki has to offer. Again, these will be confirmed once we have the programme. BD
DAY FIVE – Monday 02 November
Today will be a wonderous trip through the inland farming heart of New Zealand. A trip through the forgotten highway, is one you will not forget. We stop off for lunch at the Whangamomona Hotel, before continuing through Taumarunui and on to Taupo. Here will enjoy some free time in town and some sights of this beautiful lake side resort, before checking in to the Lakeland Hotel, for our last night together. BD
DAY SIX – Tuesday 03 November
Unfortunately, today is our last day and we will be departing after breakfast to head home, with a few stops on the way – starting with the mighty Huka Falls, then Tokoroa for morning tea. We travel on home and have you back in Auckland by late afternoon. B
